Partner, JSM

William is a Partner and the Co-Head of JSM's Healthcare team. Clients turn to William Chan for his expertise in medico-legal cases, leveraging his extensive experience in medical malpractice claims and disciplinary proceedings. Hospitals and healthcare professionals, including doctors, dentists, nurses and physiotherapists, trust William's counsel in a wide range of legal proceedings, including civil claims for medical negligence, inquiries before disciplinary tribunals, Coroner's inquests, criminal cases in the context of clinical practice and judicial review cases.

William has acted as advocate in Medical Council and Dental Council inquiries, and also in Coroner's inquests. He regularly delivers lectures and seminars to healthcare professionals, and also contributes articles on medical-legal issues in various newsletters regularly, including the monthly newsletter of the Hong Kong Medical Association.

William serves as the Honorary Legal Adviser to a number of professional bodies, including the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association, the Hong Kong College of Critical Care Nursing and the Asian Pacific Interventional Pulmonology Alliance. He is also a Lay Member of the Ethics Committee of the New Territories West Cluster.

 

Dr. Cheung Chi Hang, Alex

Dr. Alex Cheung obtained his BDS degree in Faculty of dentistry, HKU in 2011. He then went on his postgraduate training in Prosthodontics. He graduated from MDS(Pros) in 2015 and obtained the Membership in Prosthodontics of the Royal college of surgeons of Edinburg in 2016. He finished the exit examination and registered as a Prosthodontist in 2020. He is currently appointed as part-time clinical tutor in Faculty of dentistry, HKU, which involves in teaching the undergraduates and clinical cases. He is also running a private multidisciplinary clinic with his fellow colleagues.
