Free Gingival Graft (FGG) Hands-On Workshop with Lecture: Techniques for Predictable Soft Tissue Augmentation
Free Gingival Graft (FGG) Hands-On Workshop with Lecture: Techniques for Predictable Soft Tissue Augmentation
Abstract:
This session provides a comprehensive introduction to the Free Gingival Graft (FGG) procedure for increasing keratinized tissue width and improving peri-implant or periodontal soft tissue stability. Participants will first learn the biological rationale, indications, donor site management, and recipient site preparation through a focused lecture. The practical session then allows attendees to perform harvesting, grafting, and suturing techniques on models, gaining confidence in this essential soft tissue augmentation method for long-term implant and periodontal success.
Learning Objective:
1. Understand the indications, advantages, and limitations of Free Gingival Grafts in periodontal and implant dentistry.
2. Learn the biological principles and proper recipient bed preparation for successful FGG integration.
3. Master the step-by-step technique for harvesting a Free Gingival Graft from the palate, including donor site management.
4. Perform precise graft adaptation, stabilization, and suturing methods to achieve optimal healing and tissue thickness.
