Abstract: 

Semiconductor diode lasers are solid-state lasers. Their compact design, lightweight nature, and affordability earning acceptance among dental professionals.

From single wavelength laser operating in simple laser parameters, we are entering a world of multi wavelength diode laser unit. A time to explore possibilities of combination laser treatment in clinical dental practice.

Dr. Kenneth Luk

Dr. Kenneth Luk obtained his BDS at the University of Liverpool in 1987. He holds his dental clinic and is also part-time lecturer (Clinical) at Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong. 

Dr Luk has incorporated lasers in clinical practice since 2002. Furthering the passion in lasers, he obtained the MSc in Lasers in Dentistry at Aachen University, Germany in 2013. In 2021, Dr Luk achieved PhD in laser research at the University of Hong Kong. 

Dr Luk is currently the treasurer of the Asia Pacific Division of WFLD (World Federation for Laser Dentistry). He is active in research and publications in laser dentistry. Dr Luk is the editorial board member of the journal, “Lasers in Dental Science”. He is involved in laser education with WFLD, ALD (Academy of Laser Dentistry) and AALZ (Aachen Dental Laser Centre).
