Advanced Bone Augmentation Techniques & Clinical Practice Workshop
Advanced Bone Augmentation Techniques & Clinical Practice Workshop
Abstract:
Welcome to our Advanced Bone Augmentation Techniques & Clinical Practice Workshop! This intensive 2-day workshop is tailored for oral surgeons and implantologists seeking to enhance their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in bone augmentation procedures.
Through comprehensive lectures and hands-on training, you will master a wide range of strategies—from basic to complex—covering material selection, surgical techniques, and digital-assisted approaches. Combining clinical case analyses with simulated practice on 3D printed jaw model and pig jaw, this course aims to build your confidence, expand your clinical capabilities, and meet diverse patient needs.
Learning Objective:
• In-depth decision-making for bone augmentation from straightforward to complex cases, from basic principles to complex vertical and 3D augmentations
• Evidence-based graing material selection and protocols (autogenous, xenogras, allogras, synthetics)
• Focus on zone-specific strategies (aesthetic vs. posterior)
• Mastering digital technology integrations (e.g, CAD/CAM-designed titanium mesh) in bone regeneration
• Extensive hands-on training on autogenous harvesting, GBR variants, and block graing with 3D printed models and pig jaw
• Real clinical case analyses, complication discussions, and long-term outcome reviews
• Expert-led demonstrations and guidance
• CPD/CME points awarded and official completion certificate
LECTURE
• Clinical, radiographic and CBCT-based anatomical assessment for bone defects
• Decision tree and risk stratification: Straightforward vs. complex cases (horizontal, vertical, combined defects)
• Evidence-based material selection: Autogenous bone, xenogras, allogras, synthetics, growth factors, and bioactive modifiers
• Bone augmentation in the aesthetic zone: Preservation of emergence profile, so tissue integration, and predictability
• Bone augmentation in the posterior zone: Load-bearing considerations and gra stability
• So tissue management principles in augmentation surgery (flap design, tension-free closure, papilla reconstruction)
• Introduction to complications: Prevention, early detection, and management strategies
HANDS-ON
• Instrumentation, needle selection, and advanced suturing techniques for bone augmentation
• Incision/flap design, elevation, and tension-free primary closure
• Autogenous bone harvesting: Particulate chips, cortical blocks, and bone shield/cores (intraoral donor sites, e.g.,
retromolar/chin)
