Premolar Immediate Implant Placement for Beginners: Hands-On Workshop – Drilling, Bone Grafting & Anatomical Abutment Selection
Abstract:
This hands-on workshop is designed specifically for beginner implantologists. Participants will learn the step-by-step protocol for immediate implant placement in premolar extraction sites. The session covers atraumatic extraction, proper implant drilling sequences, decision-making for bone grafting, and the use of anatomical (pre-milled or custom) abutments to achieve optimal emergence profile. Through practical exercises on models, attendees will gain confidence in site preparation, implant positioning, and soft tissue management for predictable esthetic and functional outcomes in the premolar region.
Learning Objective:
1. Understand the indications, advantages, and risks of immediate implant placement in premolar sites for beginner-level clinicians.
2. Perform atraumatic tooth extraction and learn the correct drilling protocol for immediate implant osteotomy preparation.
3. Apply appropriate bone grafting techniques when dealing with buccal bone defects or gaps in premolar immediate implant cases.
4. Select and place anatomical abutments to achieve ideal emergence profile and soft tissue contour.
5. Identify common pitfalls and develop strategies to improve primary stability and long-term success in premolar immediate implants.
