GBR Success Starts with Suturing: Hands-on Workshop on Essential Techniques

Course Highlight:

Abstract:

Effective suturing is critical for achieving predictable outcomes in guided bone regeneration (GBR). This hands-on workshop, led by Dr. Dave Chan and Dr. Judy Tse, will focus on fundamental suturing techniques essential for GBR procedures. Participants will gain practical experience with mattress sutures, continuous sutures, and simple interrupted sutures, while also exploring key principles of tension management and graft stabilization. The session will provide insights into material selection, including the use of PTFE and monofilament sutures, ensuring participants leave with enhanced skills to optimize soft tissue closure and promote GBR success.

Learning Objectives:

1. Master fundamental suturing techniques, including mattress sutures, continuous sutures, and simple interrupted sutures, for predictable GBR outcomes.
2. Understand the principles of tension balancing and graft stabilization through proper suture selection and application.
3. Gain hands-on experience with PTFE and monofilament sutures, learning best practices for achieving optimal wound closure and soft tissue healing.

Please note: This lecture will primarily be conducted in Cantonese, with supplementary by English.
