Abstract: 

Periodontal regeneration surgery offers a transformative approach to restoring periodontal tissues beyond traditional way of healing. It improves attachment and enhances prognosis of periodontally involved teeth. In this first session of a two-part series, we will clinical applications of enamel matrix derivatives (EMDs) in periodontal regeneration. The lecture will cover the biological mechanisms of EMDs, their role in promoting periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone regeneration, the surgical techniques and evidence-based protocols for their use in clinical practice. Through sharing of clinical cases, attendees will gain a foundational understanding of patient selection, surgical techniques, and expected outcomes, setting the stage for the hands-on workshop in Part 2.
