With the upcoming implementation of the new Private Healthcare Facilities Ordinance (PHFO) clinic license, this lecture aims to provide guidelines for dental offices in fulfilling the sterilization requirements under the Guide to Infection Control in Clinic Setting issued by the Centre of Health Protection.

Proper sterilization of dental instruments protects dentists and patients from cross infections by preventing microorganisms from growing on instruments and surfaces. Used dental instruments contaminated with pathogens may cause various bacterial and viral infectious diseases including COVID-19.

During this lecture, you will learn about the latest sterilization standard protocol in dental clinics under the CHP guidelines, and the best practice for infection control during the COVID-19 pandemic.
